NEWBURGH ? The Elite All-Stars Cheerleaders of Newburgh competed at the Ramapo College Cheer and Dance Invitational Jan. 5 in Ramsey, N.J.

The senior team, Fury, coached by Brittany Mangieri and Carolyn Schofield, and the mini-team, Fame, coached by Lauren Mangieri, both took home first-place trophies. The junior team, Force, coached by Emily Reale and Roy Carey, won second place.

The Elite All-Stars will host their annual competition Jan. 19 at Cornwall High School. All teams are welcome.

Newburgh cheerleading teams win competition

The Newburgh Elite All-Star cheerleaders swept all three divisions at the Monroe-Woodbury Winter Classic Cheerleading Competition.

Newburgh's Mini, Junior and Senior squads all won their divisions. The Newburgh Elite All-Star team is a two-year-old team of girls ages of 7-18 from New Windsor, Cornwall, Washingtonville, Newburgh, Valley Central, Monroe, Highland Falls, Valley Central, Marlboro, Florida, and Danbury, Conn.


 
 
Cheerleading teams place third in S.C. tournament

NEWBURGH ? The Elite Allstars junior and senior cheerleading teams both placed third in competition April 5-6 at Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Cheerleaders Isabella Meah, Jenna Skurnick, Erin Infelice, Julia Mulholland, Jessica Heddricks, Ashley Turner, Lauren Mangieri, Alana Pascarielllo, Chrissel Gabriel, Brittany Barry, Yesenia Rosado, Madeline Alonge and Anna Budetti were selected as All-Americans and received an award that invites them to participate in the Rose Bowl in Hawaii next year. They are coached by Brittney Mangieri and Roy Carey.

The Allstars cheerleading team is made up of girls from 5-18 years old from Orange County, and one who travels all the way from Connecticut to participate. Evaluations for cheerleaders to be on next season's teams will be from 5-8 p.m. May 3 and noon-4 p.m. May 4 at Kennett Gymnastics in Newburgh. Cheerleaders must attend both days to be evaluated.
